Blog post summary: A podcast catch-up on big moves, new projects and everyday life
In this relaxed, funny episode, two friends record on a walk in Colorado. They catch up on life, plan big changes and talk about what they're watching and doing.
Looking back at last week's episode.
They open by reviewing their first episode. One of them listened at 1.25x speed and thought they sounded very fast. They laugh about the giggling, the background noise and the fact that nothing was edited. They decide the unfiltered, everyday-conversation feel is part of the charm.
Wedding season and bridesmaid boxes.
The host finishes assembling bridesmaid gift boxes and ships them all out. The gifts include Bombas socks, a straw and sweets. They talk about save-the-date timing (8–12 months ahead is the usual advice), a possible wedding invitation from a high school friend, and the six weddings already on the calendar for next year.
The big topic: where to live next.
The main segment is a major life decision. The couple's original plan to move to Charlotte in April is off. They're now split 50/50 between Chicago and New York City.
New York pros: better weather, many more friends and family nearby, offices they can work from, plenty to do beyond eating and drinking, and a big running and park community. They could also sell both cars.
New York cons: rent is steep (around $4,000 for a one-bedroom with an in-unit washer and dryer), and the apartment would be small.
Chicago pros: it's far cheaper than Denver, so they could afford a luxury high-rise. It's an American Airlines hub, which helps because she flies standby. It also has the Lincoln Park running path.
Chicago cons: brutal winters, no friends nearby, and no office for her partner.
They've already picked neighborhoods in both cities. The plan is a one-year lease, two years at most, before settling somewhere more affordable and family-friendly. The friend cheering from the sidelines is excited and is already planning quarterly visits (and a trip to the US Open).
Podcast admin and growth.
They cover the new show email, the branding under Snack Time Media, a possible rename to "Two Girls Walking," and an SEO plan using transcripts. They also need an intro and outro, and they talk about starting social media clips and whether to hire help. A fun side debate: could listeners tell their voices apart?
Pop culture corner.
The talk moves to Dancing with the Stars, including favorite dancers, the lift controversy and the judges' drama. Other topics are Love Island, The Traitors, a Nathan Fielder documentary, and the actors on Grey's Anatomy.
Weekend plans and everyday life.
They share weekend plans: a date-night movie, dinner at Hey Kiddo, a possible pumpkin patch if the weather allows, and football. Other topics include book club (with clay-topped pumpkins), their first-ever mahjong night, morning coffee dates, gym routines, a Sprouts dessert run that disappointed, and long runs on the East Coast.
Networking and sharing calendars.
They wrap up with a story about a work connection who gave great career advice, then a debate about shared calendars. They sign off after noticing how early it gets dark.

Speaker 2 (00:00)
And we're live. Welcome back.
Speaker 1 (00:02)
Hello.
Speaker 2 (00:04)
Okay, so we have a few good topics for today. But to start, did you listen to the full episode from last week?
Speaker 1 (00:09)
I did. What were what were your thoughts? So I also realized that I listened to it in one point two five speed and I thought we were talking really fast.
Nonetheless, we were in one point two five speed. So I don't know what we sounded like at regular speed.
Speaker 2 (00:26)
Well I listened not two times, so I have no clue. Sometimes I couldn't understand a word I was saying. Like slurring. I
Speaker 1 (00:31)
my gosh.
Speaker 2 (00:34)
was like, Okay, don't know what I said there.
Speaker 1 (00:37)
So another thing that I notice, two main things. One about me is that I just like giggle a lot and it's kind of annoying.
Speaker 2 (00:46)
No, I actually don't think so at all.
Speaker 1 (00:49)
But I feel like that is my response to a lot of things is just to giggle. But in the moment, like I feel like it's worth the giggle.
Speaker 2 (00:53)
I don't think
that wasn't I didn't even notice that. I was giggling listening to us. Second thing.
Speaker 1 (01:00)
Okay. yeah,
the out of breath.
Speaker 2 (01:03)
Yeah, that was a little embarrassing. But we are in Colorado, so maybe we have an excuse, but I think it was funny because I was like, Yeah, I'll cut out all the background noise. We're gonna like record a few and then go live and then we just I didn't cut out any background noise and we just went live. So sorry about that.
Speaker 1 (01:16)
That was without like editing.
Speaker 2 (01:18)
I really didn't edit anything. I started doing and I like, Nope, I kinda like it.
Speaker 1 (01:21)
Interesting. I did notice we didn't say like or like a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:26)
I didn't cut it. I
Speaker 1 (01:28)
That's good.
Speaker 2 (01:29)
was like, it's gonna be too choppy. I could've taken out the background noise. So when I listened background was like, I don't know why I didn't do that setting. But I didn't, so
Speaker 1 (01:37)
Here we are. Is that a setting like on the microphone or
Speaker 2 (01:40)
It is on microphone, it's on high noise cancellation right now, but it's also a setting on the tool I use to like post it. I just didn't use it. so
Speaker 1 (01:47)
Okay. Nice.
All I considered, I feel like it was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:53)
I thought it was hilarious. I was literally listening and like dying laughing and I'm like, I was literally there. Why is this so funny? Also
Speaker 1 (01:59)
The fact that it I did not like censor a single thing I said. I was like, this is actually just a conversation we have every single day.
Speaker 2 (02:07)
Well we like did name drop some friends and I told Laney the last time I go, Laney you're featured in it and she was giggling.
Speaker 1 (02:13)
I did notice that too.
Speaker 2 (02:15)
good. People should know. Once they have a following, they'll know who our friends are.
Speaker 1 (02:19)
I also did notice that I was like, I will take any other job if they wanna be
Speaker 2 (02:23)
Yeah, do I cut that.
Speaker 1 (02:24)
No, I don't think that's an issue.
Speaker 2 (02:27)
Yeah, I thought that was funny.
Speaker 1 (02:29)
Then.
Speaker 2 (02:30)
I like when I say we can go left here. We can go right here. That was pretty good.
but those are my main takeaways of me not following what I stood up to do. And then out of breath. And then the follow up is I talked a lot in last episode about the bridesmaid gift. Do you have an announcement for today?
Speaker 1 (02:49)
I have gotten the bridesmaid gift.
Speaker 2 (02:52)
Would you like to share the random things?
Speaker 1 (02:54)
I said yes! Woo!
I got Bombas. Not gonna lie, I think that's my favorite thing in there. Second
Speaker 2 (03:02)
Iconic.
Speaker 1 (03:03)
favorite thing is the straw.
Speaker 2 (03:05)
Okay.
Speaker 1 (03:06)
And then the sweets, which I actually they could be my favorite. I haven't tried those ones.
Speaker 2 (03:10)
I wanted to give you not the watermelon 'cause we got the watermelon last time. And those were really sour.
Speaker 1 (03:17)
I actually didn't eat all of them, which is shocking.
Speaker 2 (03:19)
It
was too sorry. I didn't even all of them either. Yeah. So I was like, maybe starting clear from those with you. So that was a good test run.
Speaker 1 (03:26)
Very cute. Have you delivered any other bridesmaids boxes?
Speaker 2 (03:30)
I gave Emma hers and it worked out really well 'cause we're going on a hike and she forgot socks. And I go Crazy
Speaker 1 (03:35)
Mm.
Speaker 2 (03:36)
enough, if you open that box, I'm not even kidding you there's socks.
Speaker 1 (03:39)
And
Speaker 2 (03:40)
And then I shipped them all out on Monday. Wow. So they get delivered hmm between Thursday and Saturday to everyone.
Speaker 1 (03:47)
Wow.
Speaker 2 (03:48)
So USPS is my friend. I went in with a huge stack of boxes and they were like, Please leave. They're actually so ratchet, so it's fine. But
Speaker 1 (03:56)
So when's the timeline of sending save the dates?
Speaker 2 (04:00)
So Riley's been he's been dealing with a lot of print companies. He actually went on site to a print company. People say eight to twelve months in advance.
Speaker 1 (04:10)
Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:11)
And we're at
Speaker 1 (04:14)
fourteen ish.
Speaker 2 (04:16)
I don't know what the what's this month? October? We're at ten. So we would
Speaker 1 (04:21)
my god.
Speaker 2 (04:23)
so then yeah. I know based on the subside you don't know your advance.
Speaker 1 (04:26)
my gosh, I just did that with the math that we were talking about.
Speaker 2 (04:30)
Wow. Whoa.
Okay, good. So you haven't changed and that's good to know.
Speaker 1 (04:34)
I am truly authentic when I talk about
Speaker 2 (04:37)
Fourteen. I know how you got them. Can you walk me through how you did get fourteen actually?
Speaker 1 (04:41)
Wow. I
actually don't know. I was doing like Carry the Two.
Speaker 2 (04:47)
I thought you just were like counting days. I don't know. I like, I'm sure she's not counting months.
Speaker 1 (04:51)
Fourteen days and Wow. Okay, so that's soon.
Speaker 2 (04:57)
We'll send him out probably before Christmas maybe. And it's
Speaker 1 (05:00)
Exciting.
Speaker 2 (05:02)
really cool. You've never I'm sure you've never seen anything like it before. So it's definitely unique, very cute, very fun.
Speaker 1 (05:09)
Cool.
Speaker 2 (05:10)
And yeah, I found a photographer that I think you really like.
Speaker 1 (05:13)
Okay, because I'm curious. I had a friend in one of my high school friends while I was home text me asking for my address. and he is engaged. That's the I have not seen him in person in like three years. I text him probably like every six to eight months, being like, Hey, miss you, hope everything's good.
Speaker 2 (05:37)
So nice.
Speaker 1 (05:38)
And I think I'm getting invited to his wedding.
But I'm like, when can I expect this wedding to be? 'Cause we already have like six weddings next year.
Speaker 2 (05:47)
That's crazy. I would expect it's gonna be in eight to twelve months.
Speaker 1 (05:51)
Okay. But yeah, I guess that'll probably be for the save the date.
Speaker 2 (05:56)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. That's what I would anticipate based on my online findings.
Speaker 1 (06:01)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:03)
But congrats, huge. What if it's not?
Speaker 1 (06:06)
I'm honestly a little scared because I have no idea who from my high school friend group is gonna be invited. and there's a lot of people I've not seen in a long time and if I don't get a plus one, I think I'm gonna really have to think about going or not.
Speaker 2 (06:19)
I mean I think you don't go if you don't go.
Speaker 1 (06:22)
Yeah. There's a few people where I'm like, if they went then I'll go. Okay, good. But if it's this whole group that I have not been around in a long time and not the people that I feel comfortable and I don't get a plus one. Yeah. Then I don't think it's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (06:41)
Yeah, that makes sense. Hopefully you got a plus one.
But say that's the hard thing. If like at the wedding you don't get to hang out with him very much at all.
Speaker 1 (06:49)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:49)
So that makes sense.
Speaker 1 (06:53)
Which I gosh. I guess.
Speaker 2 (06:54)
fighting since we last saw them. Continue.
Continue, sorry.
Speaker 1 (07:00)
He is someone I like I had toyed with about like inviting him to my future wedding. Yeah. I was like I haven't seen him in three years, so I guess probably not, but if I go to his wedding I feel like I probably would invite him to mine.
Speaker 2 (07:14)
That's nice, I feel like yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:16)
I mean he's a really good guy, so
Speaker 2 (07:18)
That's kinda fun. It's kinda fun to go to a wedding, I feel like, when you haven't seen people. And then you have to be in the right mood. I did it once and I was not in the right mood and I was like, I don't wanna do this.
Speaker 1 (07:27)
Yeah,
that's gonna be my stepbrother's wedding as well because fun fact he was the grade above me in my high school was pretty much in the friend group that I hung out with, even though I wasn't good friends with him. So I know all of his good friends really well.
Speaker 2 (07:44)
So when is his wedding?
Speaker 1 (07:46)
It's in gosh, July or August. Yeah,
Speaker 2 (07:49)
Next year Wow
Speaker 1 (07:52)
we have like five weddings in the span of two months.
Speaker 2 (07:57)
Danger
Speaker 1 (07:58)
Girl, I know.
Speaker 2 (08:00)
Well, I'm excited to be one of them.
Speaker 1 (08:02)
So I did I talked to Jenny on the phone today, my home friend that just got engaged.
Speaker 2 (08:05)
Nice. So many
friends today.
Speaker 1 (08:09)
I've
blocked it off on my work calendar as the teams meeting. Love. she just got engaged in Scotland, had no idea it was coming, love. But they are going to have a longer engagement in probably due twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 2 (08:25)
Night. So you guys are planning a joint wedding, maybe? That
Speaker 1 (08:28)
Maybe.
Speaker 2 (08:29)
would be eye-called. I understand you're looking more in the twenty thirty-three time zone.
Speaker 1 (08:33)
Yeah, well I was as I was explaining to PJ that John, her fiance, was planning her engagement in her wedding ring since February of this year. And as I'm explaining this to PJ, he's coming up with golfing drills to do in his free time. I was like, so John started planning
Speaker 2 (08:52)
What?
Speaker 1 (08:54)
six months in advance, in in your free time, you were just doing golfing drills in the house.
Speaker 2 (09:00)
in the house. I was gonna say you think he's secretly planning but no, he's at home.
Speaker 1 (09:04)
No, yeah, he just like wasn't listening to me and just like golfing the house. I was like, This is this is what I would expect.
Speaker 2 (09:11)
You chose a good one.
Speaker 1 (09:12)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:15)
so we do kinda have a pretty big topic for today and that is where you're gonna live next and the decision making behind it.
Speaker 1 (09:24)
Bum bum.
Speaker 2 (09:26)
This is a big, big switcheroo.
Speaker 1 (09:29)
Yes, so original plan of moving to Charlotte come April is now completely off the list.
Speaker 2 (09:37)
So like actually zero percent.
Speaker 1 (09:40)
I'd say maybe like 15%. Okay. Very low. Yes. And I don't think it's out of the picture for where we settle, because I do think that we'll want to buy a house somewhere where it's affordable.
Speaker 2 (09:56)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:57)
And that does have things that we want, like lakes and just like outdoor activities around it.
Speaker 2 (10:06)
Okay.
Speaker 1 (10:07)
But
combination of two things. First of all, every time we tell people, slash our friends, that we're moving to Charlotte, they're like, why the heck are you moving to Charlotte right now? Like who is there to do?
Speaker 2 (10:21)
Okay. Rude.
Speaker 1 (10:23)
which we're like, I don't I don't really know. But whatever, like we'll be fine. And then going to Chicago, we realized that every time we're in a big city, we absolutely love it.
And PJ has mul like said multiple times that he's always wanted to live in a big city and never has gotten the chance to.
Speaker 2 (10:44)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:45)
So I mean it only makes sense to do that now if we are gonna do it. Yeah. As opposed to getting to Charlotte, which is basically like a suburb,
Speaker 2 (10:59)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:00)
and then deciding that we actually want to go and try a city.
Speaker 2 (11:05)
So you're thinking when?
Speaker 1 (11:07)
Still in April.
Speaker 2 (11:08)
And is Chicago the only city that you're Okay.
Speaker 1 (11:10)
No.
So we are completely 50 50 between our two options. We cannot decide.
Speaker 2 (11:18)
I have
no idea what the second one's gonna be. Are you saying New York City?
Speaker 1 (11:20)
Yeah. my god. I know. Wee, that's
Speaker 2 (11:23)
Sick.
Speaker 1 (11:24)
I know.
Speaker 2 (11:24)
Wait, so how did that one come onto the table? What?
Speaker 1 (11:27)
So as we are in Chicago, we were like, okay, we should actually think about moving here. Yeah. Met up with some of PJ's friends that live there. I was like obsessed with running there on the Lake Shore Trail.
Speaker 2 (11:41)
It is so nice.
Speaker 1 (11:43)
And then as we were having these conversations, we go to dinner with Bella and Voley. Yeah and they announce that they are moving to New York City.
Speaker 2 (11:51)
I did know that, yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:54)
we
PJ's some of PJ's best friends live in New York City. Jenny lives right outside of New York City. My friends from college live in New York City. Wow. And we're like, wait, so what like what is drawing us to Chicago
Speaker 2 (12:10)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:10)
if we're wanting to be in a really big city when like New York is an option and we have more people there?
Speaker 2 (12:17)
This is a fair point.
Speaker 1 (12:18)
So I'll just lay out my pros and cons. So this is a whole me episode takeover because I get so annoying talking about this because I just ramble on and
Speaker 2 (12:28)
No, no, I I think this is good.
Speaker 1 (12:30)
on. So pros, and I don't even think it's like the list of pros and cons that you can weigh against each other because I think some are weighted way differently.
Speaker 2 (12:41)
Yeah, I would agree, probably.
Speaker 1 (12:44)
so starting with New York, obviously pros.
It does have better weather than Chicago. Like Chicago
Speaker 2 (12:50)
I agree completely.
Speaker 1 (12:51)
Chicago's winters are really brutal.
Speaker 2 (12:55)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:56)
so that's pro one. Pro two is we just do have a lot more people there. Specifically me that I know. I don't know anyone in Chicago.
Speaker 2 (13:04)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:06)
Three, we both have offices there that we could go in and work from.
Speaker 2 (13:11)
Okay, love.
Speaker 1 (13:13)
Four I do think everyone always is like, well when you move to a city, all there is to do is eat and drink. Yeah. But
I think if there was any place where there would be other activities outside of eating and drinking, it would be New York.
Speaker 2 (13:32)
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (13:35)
and I think most of my time outside of work I usually spend walking slash running. And there are lots of parks and like a big community for that there. Okay.
Speaker 2 (13:47)
Wow. Okay.
Speaker 1 (13:48)
Okay, cons. Obviously the rent is absurd.
Speaker 2 (13:53)
Okay, but are you trying to live in Manhattan?
Speaker 1 (13:56)
Either Manhattan or Brooklyn. Like east.
Speaker 2 (13:59)
Yes, but less.
Speaker 1 (14:01)
Yes. So we're looking right now and I think our goal would and I think it would be pretty hard to come by, but I think we would aim for about four thousand. Okay. 'cause we do want in unit washer and dryer if we're gonna do that.
Speaker 2 (14:19)
Think you that's my biggest con of New York, so I agree. Yes.
Speaker 1 (14:23)
Honestly, I'm glad that PJ's putting his foot down on that because I would be like, it's fine and I think that I would end up hating it. So that's one of our musts love. I think that a dishwasher is a must, but I think if it has a washer dryer it would have a dishwasher.
Speaker 2 (14:38)
I agree and I think that that's honestly annoying but easier than no wash dryer.
Speaker 1 (14:42)
Yes. Okay. Also it would have to be a one bedroom, not a studio, obviously.
Speaker 2 (14:48)
Okay. Didn't know that was obvious, those that was called.
Speaker 1 (14:52)
Well,
because my thing is if we are working from home at all, yeah. Like we need some sort of separation from the place.
Speaker 2 (15:01)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:02)
Okay. Say one of us is in the bedroom, one's in I mean I probably would go into the office every day if we lived in New York.
Speaker 2 (15:08)
Wow. Wow. Okay.
Speaker 1 (15:10)
So
that's that. Another well I'll talk about the other con when I bring up the pros of Chicago.
Speaker 2 (15:18)
Okay, yeah, I'm like I'm curious what how you're gonna beat that, but okay.
Speaker 1 (15:21)
So pros of Chicago are it is so insanely cheap. Like cheaper than Denver. I don't get how. It is so cheap. So we're like, if we w were in Chicago, we would just ball out, spend $3K on an apartment, and get like
Speaker 2 (15:37)
And it's really nice.
Speaker 1 (15:39)
a luxury high-rise that has all the amenities, pool, whatever.
Speaker 2 (15:42)
Yeah. What please go on Tennis Courts.
Speaker 1 (15:45)
Yes. I think another pro is.
It probably is a bit like cleaner and less touristy than Chicago. I mean than New York. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:55)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:58)
we probably would keep one car if we went to Chicago. Okay. Whereas New York we'd probably sell both. I don't
Speaker 2 (16:03)
Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:04)
know if that's a pro or con, it doesn't really matter,
Speaker 2 (16:07)
Yeah, but just signed. I think I'll
Speaker 1 (16:10)
but then the biggest pro specifically for me is that it's an American Airlines hub
Speaker 2 (16:16)
True.
Speaker 1 (16:16)
and I fly standby, so I could get
literally anywhere very easily. Hmm. And I think so the the part where it's like somewhat a con of New York, but not fully, is that LaGuardia is still an American hub. It's just a smaller one. So like it doesn't connect to Manchester, New Hampshire where Chicago does, but like direct to Boston, direct to Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (16:42)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:43)
The places that we would probably be going
Speaker 2 (16:45)
This is dumb but could you take the train?
Speaker 1 (16:48)
to the airport?
Speaker 2 (16:50)
Okay.
Speaker 1 (16:51)
to be like four hours so probably the same as what stuff with all the travel to the airport.
Speaker 2 (16:58)
Yeah.
Yeah. Sorry, that was just a random.
Speaker 1 (17:03)
Yeah,
so those are the things laid out.
Speaker 2 (17:09)
Okay, so what do you feel like y'all are like actively discussing the di like the difference or like what now?
Speaker 1 (17:17)
We taught it is on the front of my mind like every single day, every minute.
Speaker 2 (17:21)
Wow. Okay.
Speaker 1 (17:21)
And I do feel like I am like going back and forth between feeling like I'm pretty confident about one. Okay. And then switching to the other. So it's
Speaker 2 (17:30)
Wow.
Speaker 1 (17:31)
gonna be really hard just because
Speaker 2 (17:33)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:34)
I mean, I think we would enjoy either of the places, but like just deciding is gonna be.
Speaker 2 (17:43)
Tough. And then are you looking for like a year lease or are you trying to do short term again?
Speaker 1 (17:49)
A year. Okay.
Speaker 2 (17:51)
Wow
Speaker 1 (17:53)
another like somewhat con, PJ says he doesn't care, but he would not have an office in Chicago.
Speaker 2 (18:00)
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:02)
So to me that's a con because I could see it not being great to just stay inside the apartment all day every day. Not that it would be all day every day, but like in the winter months, like you're gonna be inside
Speaker 2 (18:15)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:16)
all the time.
Speaker 2 (18:20)
Yeah, I mean I agree.
Speaker 1 (18:21)
And we would have a bigger apartment, like a massive one compared to New York, where we could make
Speaker 2 (18:27)
It's better.
Speaker 1 (18:28)
it like cosier and like just a good place to be, but I still make some separations good.
Speaker 2 (18:36)
Wow.
Speaker 1 (18:37)
So those are our options. So
Speaker 2 (18:39)
Do you feel like like y are you already looking at places to live there? Just like perusing? Yeah. This is so cool. I support this.
Speaker 1 (18:46)
'Cause we honestly we've already decided on the neighborhoods we'd probably live in in both places.
Speaker 2 (18:51)
Which ones?
Speaker 1 (18:52)
So in New York, probably either Prospect Heights in Brooklyn. Okay. Cause it's right next to the park. And I think that'd be a huge plus. It's also right next to all the subway lines.
Speaker 2 (19:04)
Nice.
Speaker 1 (19:05)
Or East Village, which is like where everyone our age lives. Yeah, yeah. And it would be closer to our work offices. Yeah.
And then Chicago, we'd either do like the Lincoln Park area. Okay. Cause I'm obsessed with that running path. Love And then or like West Loop, like the busy happening place and like a big high rise with a nice view.
Speaker 2 (19:34)
Okay. This is very exciting. So
Speaker 1 (19:38)
kinda crazy.
Speaker 2 (19:39)
I think this is a good development actually. I do think that selfishly I want you to go to New York because I worry if you go to Chicago that you're gonna end up moving to the Chicago suburbs. And if you
Speaker 1 (19:51)
And
Speaker 2 (19:52)
go to New York, I don't really think there's a world in which you stay there. Not because
Speaker 1 (19:56)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:56)
it's bad, just because I don't feel like you guys would wanna raise a family there
Speaker 1 (19:59)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (20:00)
from knowing you two.
Speaker 1 (20:01)
I do think another plus to New York, which who knows actually how often we would do this, but I actually do think there's nature very accessible outside of the city.
Speaker 2 (20:14)
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:15)
Like the Catskills, Adirondacks, like I think there is like public transportation to get there. I agree. And those are beautiful places. there is also the beach that you could take the train to.
Speaker 2 (20:28)
I mean I think it'd be sick. I think it would be very different life than the life you have now. Yeah. But that's not bad. That's like awesome.
Speaker 1 (20:35)
And I think 'cause everyone's like, you're g giving up nature fully, but I think the fact that we were gonna move from Denver no matter what, it's like why not just go all out?
Speaker 2 (20:46)
Yeah, and it's like it is temporary and like you said, there's so much to do in New York. Like the music scene in New York is insane. Usually like pop up shows. It's so fun.
Speaker 1 (20:54)
Yeah, and
markets, like I do think there's a way to not make it insanely expensive by just eating out and drinking like every day.
Speaker 2 (21:05)
Yeah. That would be so fun. I would love to if you did either, but obviously I have to come visit.
Speaker 1 (21:11)
Yes. I also would have to I don't I feel like I'm on top of the obvious like not in for the good reasons, but I feel like I have so much pull at my job right now that I can get away with like thinking about these options.
Speaker 2 (21:27)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:28)
I probably wouldn't tell them that it's a temporary move. I would just say, Yeah, we're going here to be on the East Coast near both of our families
Speaker 2 (21:35)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:36)
and then I feel like it's very explainable in
A year or two years from now being like, Hey, this is a lot at this age, like we're looking to buy a house somewhere.
Speaker 2 (21:48)
I don't think you owe it I mean, sorry to them, I don't think you owe it I don't even think that matters.
Speaker 1 (21:50)
No, I don't either. That's
how I'm feeling. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:55)
Wait, that's so exciting.
Speaker 1 (21:56)
I'm honestly just thinking about it, like I'm stressing because we don't have a decision, but I'm really, really excited.
Speaker 2 (22:03)
I think it'd be so fun. And like I just like it's a good time in your life to do it. Why not? But see if you have people there, you know? Yes.
Speaker 1 (22:14)
And I do think the like I think the cost thing is a very should be weighted heavier than other factors, but I also do think that so sho should like knowing people.
Speaker 2 (22:25)
Yeah. I mean if you can afford it and you're not saving money, that's fine, in my opinion. Yeah. If you have friends.
Speaker 1 (22:32)
And I think about like it's definitely gonna be more expensive to be in New York than it would be Chicago.
Speaker 2 (22:37)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:37)
But like I wouldn't have my car payment which would give me four hundred bucks a month back.
Speaker 2 (22:43)
Like and you get paid for whatever equity you have in your car.
Speaker 1 (22:46)
Yes. And then like PJ would get a fifteen percent increase in his income, which I think would probably cover I did
Speaker 2 (22:54)
It's pretty
Speaker 1 (22:54)
most of that. I think I'd get an allowance for like transportation. I don't know if I get like a increase,
Speaker 2 (23:02)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:02)
like a living based one.
Speaker 2 (23:07)
Yeah. Dang. Okay, this is fun. So then Do you feel
Speaker 1 (23:10)
Very exciting. Do you
Speaker 2 (23:11)
like from there you're like playing it by ear? Do you feel you have a plan of like I want to be there for two years and then leave?
Speaker 1 (23:18)
I would I think we're thinking about like one year. But I would be open to two. But I think two at the most.
Speaker 2 (23:25)
Okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (23:27)
I
also think that will be enough like city life for us. Like I do think we will love the city, but I we're not like city people who are gonna wanna like raise a family in a city.
Speaker 2 (23:38)
Yeah, yeah. Wow, this is so fun. I'm so excited. Can I come at least once a quarter?
Speaker 1 (23:44)
Absolutely. You can stay in our little shoe box apartment.
Speaker 2 (23:48)
You're actually not getting a studio just so I can stay.
Speaker 1 (23:50)
Ha ha ha.
Speaker 2 (23:51)
I will have to go to the US Open if that's okay with you. That's so fun. Okay, I love it. It's a good life update. Wow.
Speaker 1 (23:58)
Thanks. Walk
in closed.
Speaker 2 (24:03)
Okay, so the other topics that I had were really admin. one was I got us the email. I felt like I should ask you all these questions and I just didn't, so sorry. So first of all I'm
Speaker 1 (24:15)
Ha.
Speaker 2 (24:15)
sorry that I just published it and I didn't even tell you 'cause I honestly did that and then I forgot that I did that. So were you upset?
Speaker 1 (24:20)
I love it. do you feel like you're pulling all the weight here?
Speaker 2 (24:24)
No. Okay. I didn't even edit it, so no. okay, second follow-up. So right now it's under the brand Snack Time Media, mainly because I already own that domain and don't want to buy another one. Are you upset about that? Okay.
Speaker 1 (24:36)
No.
Speaker 2 (24:38)
We have a page on the website and I've been researching SEO. I don't have to search engine optimization,
Speaker 1 (24:44)
What is that? Okay.
Speaker 2 (24:47)
which essentially like helps you get found. Yeah. So I've been doing some practice with it to drive
searches to our page. So I post a summarized transcript and then I post the full transcript in a c collapsed area 'cause it helps you get searched.
Speaker 1 (25:03)
Mm. Like keywords and stuff.
Speaker 2 (25:05)
Yeah, it's like literally just the full transcript on that like but you can't it's like you have to press a button to see it, so it's like collapse. okay. Our email I think is two girls walking at snack timedia dot net. Do you wanna change and then
Speaker 1 (25:16)
No, I love it.
Speaker 2 (25:18)
do we I feel like how do you feel about our actual podcast title?
Speaker 1 (25:23)
Is it like walking?
Speaker 2 (25:24)
Two really strong girls walking or something like that is the official name, which obviously can be changed, but I just went with it. Again, I did this and I forgot. And I'm like, whoa, it's live.
Speaker 1 (25:33)
Maybe we should just do two girls walking is that already taken? 'Cause
Speaker 2 (25:37)
I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (25:38)
I like how we just like free ball our adjectives when we're feeling them, you know. Okay.
Speaker 2 (25:42)
Okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (25:42)
So then it's like buildable.
Speaker 2 (25:43)
Okay, I like that. Okay, I ha so our email is two girlswalking at stactinia.net. I'll give you the password. we have a lot of advertisers reaching out. No, I need to add the contact to our thing and to the podcast description. I had another piece of admin. we need to do an intro and like an end. Okay. So maybe we can do that today because w it just goes right into it. Okay. So I was hoping you could sing a song.
Speaker 1 (26:09)
You want to use my angelic voice.
Speaker 2 (26:11)
The bugs are like less bad if you come right down on the slope.
Speaker 1 (26:13)
Are th there's so many bugs?
Speaker 2 (26:16)
I think those are all my admin items. If we ever wanna move from SacTime Media, I don't actually care at all. on the record. So we can move. It just was the easiest thing to do today.
Speaker 1 (26:28)
think that's the perfect place for it.
Speaker 2 (26:30)
Okay, my next thing is I'm really not good at social media. Mm-hmm. But I feel like we should be putting clips out there.
Speaker 1 (26:36)
Yeah. I'm kinda scared.
Speaker 2 (26:40)
Like we're not recording this podcast because we're on a walk. So like the questions that I have are, do you have ideas? Should we contract someone to help us? Or are we not ready for that?
Speaker 1 (26:52)
I feel like we need more episodes.
Speaker 2 (26:54)
Okay. And then are we envisioning like a slideshow of like background with text? Are we envisioning like pictures of us? Are we gonna we'll have to do our walker video? Yeah, true.
Speaker 1 (27:08)
I like the Walker video.
Speaker 2 (27:10)
But yeah, I don't know what hm I don't have a good like that's not my thing. So I'm like, do we know anyone who would help us out once we or should we put out an ad? Hey guys, if you're interested in being our social media person.
Speaker 1 (27:24)
Yeah, we must know people.
Speaker 2 (27:27)
I tried to get my brother, who's in high school, to do my other podcast, and he I was gonna pay him like more than he's making at his job and he didn't ghost at me. So that's on him.
Speaker 1 (27:38)
I do kind of think like having our our faces in it could be good 'cause I feel I get really annoyed when I listen to a podcast and I don't know what the person looks like.
Speaker 2 (27:51)
Yeah. Okay, I don't think I really get annoyed, but I understand.
Speaker 1 (27:54)
Like I really want to match the voice to the face. Also, I was thinking about this. Do you think that if people looked at a picture of us, they would know whose voice belongs to who?
Speaker 2 (28:08)
no, but I also like think at some times we kind of look alike. Yeah. So then I'm like, what are what are they going off of?
Speaker 1 (28:14)
Yeah, but I do feel like our voices are pretty different.
Speaker 2 (28:19)
Yeah, I didn't listen and I was never like, Who's that? Like I always I always knew w it was you or me.
Speaker 1 (28:23)
Yeah, I guess 'cause it's also our voice is so different to me. I've
Speaker 2 (28:26)
Maybe sometimes sometimes
people's voices sound more similar. I w it like made sense too too. Like I think they might guess it but they probably guessed the opposite.
Speaker 1 (28:36)
I have listened to so many like girl duo podcasts and like tried to figure out who is who because I had never seen like a video of them talking.
Speaker 2 (28:47)
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:48)
And it would just like get my brain like going. Like I could not figure it out. Yeah,
Speaker 2 (28:53)
See, it's kind of fun.
Speaker 1 (28:55)
it is kind of fun. The mystery.
Speaker 2 (28:57)
That's like what girls gotta eat. I like I was driving me crazy I didn't know who was who. I had to like Google them talking. I
Speaker 1 (29:02)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:03)
was like, okay. How did I not and then then it's like, I b why would I not have known that? But it's like, no, like literally had no idea.
Speaker 1 (29:08)
And Chicks in the Office. I don't know if you've ever listened to them. They're B Barcel podcast. Chill. You should listen. It's just like pop culture. Yeah. But honestly it keeps me in the loop because I used to not know anything going on and now I feel like I'm with it.
Speaker 2 (29:24)
I kinda like to know enough, but Do you have any other admin things before I move on to my next topic? That's kind of sad news for you.
Speaker 1 (29:30)
No, I don't think so. I'm scared.
Speaker 2 (29:32)
I tried to watch Dancing with the Stars and I couldn't.
Speaker 1 (29:34)
I thought you were gonna say the gear and what got sent home and I was like, I know, it's so sad.
Speaker 2 (29:39)
I mean, yeah, I I know he got sent home. But I like I like it better on Instagram. Like I watched an episode last night while I was cooking and I'm just like it was the first episode it was all combined. So it was like so rushed. And I'm like It is
Speaker 1 (29:51)
Is
it's also a lot of fluff. Like I just wanna see the dances and those are what, a minute long?
Speaker 2 (29:58)
Yeah.
And it's really impressive what they're doing. I'm like, this is awesome. But sometimes I'm like I don't need to wa I don't know if I need to wash
Speaker 1 (30:05)
So last night was dedication and watched it this morning because
Speaker 2 (30:11)
Yes, yes. Impressive.
Speaker 1 (30:14)
I did I I've missed the past couple weeks, but I knew I really wanted to see this week. I just feel like I'm more invested in the people, like in the stars in this one.
Speaker 2 (30:23)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:25)
but I was like absolutely just skipping through everything until I saw the dances and then to see the scores and that was it.
Speaker 2 (30:33)
I like watch a lot of them on Instagram and YouTube but I like watch the dances.
Speaker 1 (30:37)
Did you see that Tyler Cameron announced his pregnancy? Yeah. I that
Speaker 2 (30:40)
Yeah, that was cute.
Speaker 1 (30:43)
was I shed a tear at watching that. That was kinda crazy.
Speaker 2 (30:46)
That was really pretty. I thought the Julia Styles one. I think she's so cool.
Speaker 1 (30:50)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:51)
And then what was the other one? my god. the Amber Glenn one was insane.
Speaker 1 (30:57)
Yes.
Speaker 2 (30:58)
I was like my son's right now thinking about it. That was such a good dance. Amazing. I almost cried watching that one. Also
Speaker 1 (31:02)
That was amazing.
Pasha is he killed the choreography.
Speaker 2 (31:08)
It was so good. 'Cause I didn't realize he's married to Danielle. Danielle.
Speaker 1 (31:12)
Yeah, Daniela, whatever their last name is.
Speaker 2 (31:15)
'Cause then he got the sexiest guy and then she like, That's my man And I like, Wait,
Speaker 1 (31:18)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (31:18)
they are the people who post the wedding dances Didn't never realize that he was on the show too.
Speaker 1 (31:23)
Yeah, do you watch their wedding?
Speaker 2 (31:24)
Yeah, I wanna I wanna start practicing them.
Speaker 1 (31:26)
I really like them.
Speaker 2 (31:27)
No, they're great. I like that's why I wanna like the show. I'm like I like the dancers, I like the the whatever, famous people, the stars.
Speaker 1 (31:34)
Did you hear about the drama with the other married couple?
Speaker 2 (31:37)
Yeah. He was the center this week. So like who side are you on?
Speaker 1 (31:39)
Yeah.
God, so when I was watching it, I was like, the judge sucks. Like she's so freaking annoying. Yeah. Like that was so rude of her, like uncalled for to like read the definition. Give it to this pro.
Speaker 2 (31:52)
Okay, I
have question. You can't do lifts is the issue, but they do lifts all the time.
Speaker 1 (31:57)
S so apparently like in a samba or whatever they were doing, like it's not traditional to do lifts. Because you know how they have like the different style each week. So
Speaker 2 (32:05)
This makes so much more sense.
Speaker 1 (32:07)
the style that they were doing technically like doesn't traditionally have lifts, I guess.
Speaker 2 (32:14)
I understand now. I thought they weren't allowed to do it ever and then I watched and I like, Everyone's doing lifts. I'm so confused.
Speaker 1 (32:19)
But I don't I the thing is I don't think it's like a rule where it's like you can't by definition have any lifts in it. I think it's just like you shouldn't have like a purposeful lift. Like where that's like a yeah a move. And that's why she was like a lift. Like I don't think she was disagreeing that it was by definition a lift, but she was like that wasn't like like a part of the day like that just happened. It wasn't choreographed to be I don't know.
Speaker 2 (32:50)
That's so weird.
Speaker 1 (32:50)
I just I don't like Harrien either. I think she's really annoying.
Speaker 2 (32:55)
I kinda don't like any of the judges.
Speaker 1 (32:57)
Yeah, I don't either.
Speaker 2 (32:58)
I just I I was like, that's the hardest part to listen to the judges. And I don't know.
Speaker 1 (33:04)
Yeah. So I I was like, Yeah, Jenna, like st like stand up to her, whatever. Found that block spot. Took it too far.
Speaker 2 (33:14)
Okay, but do you think he was like making a joke? Like do you think he was like really seriously like that mad or do you think he was kidding?
Speaker 1 (33:20)
Well, did you hear the comment that he made?
Speaker 2 (33:22)
Wasn't it like fresh prints?
Speaker 1 (33:24)
Yeah, which was Will Smith's slapping him across the face or whatever. So like I do I don't think he meant any violence from it. I do think he should have probably thought about like
Speaker 2 (33:34)
I that's crazy. That would but I'm like I feel like there's like a through line of like two people from Fresh Prince are on the show. So
Speaker 1 (33:42)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:43)
I'm like I feel like it's kind of a joke. I obviously not promoting violence in the situation. I don't think he ever was gonna slap.
Speaker 1 (33:49)
I don't think he was actually like threatening her at all. I just think it was stupid of him to like not think it could have gone there.
Speaker 2 (33:56)
Yeah, yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (33:57)
So I'm like not hateful of him because he said that. I'm just like, wow, that was pretty dumb of you. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:04)
Yeah, okay, that's fair. No, I would never yeah, I'm just like I feel like it was never like he was going to slap
Speaker 1 (34:09)
Yeah. Yeah. And he like posted like an apology and like I didn't even think of that reference. I was just like saying
Speaker 2 (34:15)
I didn't get it originally.
Speaker 1 (34:17)
like don't talk to my wife like that.
Speaker 2 (34:19)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:19)
I do think she was really rude to her. I would have been mad if someone talked to my significant other like that, but they have to
Speaker 2 (34:26)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:28)
also know that they're in the public eye, so
Speaker 2 (34:32)
Yeah these stuff's scary. But yeah, I think I just don't think it's for me. But some of the dances are really nice.
Speaker 1 (34:36)
Yeah. No
I definitely can't get myself to watch it every week.
Speaker 2 (34:45)
I was kinda excited, I was gonna be so fun, I'm gonna go to your house, we're gonna watch it and then I like couldn't watch it by myself. I'm like, yeah, I'm not gonna go to your house to watch it. So
Speaker 1 (34:52)
Other
watch Love Island.
Speaker 2 (34:54)
Yeah, I need to watch Traders.
Speaker 1 (34:57)
Maybe I should start watching that.
Speaker 2 (34:59)
That's fun. Apparently on the season of Ted Lasso, the cast was all secretly playing traitors and like only the girls knew. Really?
Speaker 1 (35:07)
We really.
Speaker 2 (35:08)
And they was like playing it like why like during the season. I think it's serious. And like one time that I got in a fight about it, it was it's there was an interview about it. It was so funny.
Speaker 1 (35:17)
They look they were actually on traders or they were just playing their own?
Speaker 2 (35:20)
No, they're they're s they're playing their own version like secretly while they were filming. So it
Speaker 1 (35:23)
That's funny.
Speaker 2 (35:24)
was so funny. So I was like, that's kinda like on it. Good for
Speaker 1 (35:27)
Gosh, I was just listening to I'm just thinking of like filming things, but I was listening to Chicks in the Office yesterday and they interviewed have you seen Grey's Anatomy at all?
Speaker 2 (35:41)
no.
Speaker 1 (35:41)
They interviewed Miranda Bailey from it. She
Speaker 2 (35:44)
No.
Speaker 1 (35:45)
has had, she's filmed 470 episodes for this TV show.
Speaker 2 (35:50)
See that show makes no sense. Like who's watching all of that?
Speaker 1 (35:53)
I mean I washed up until like season fifteen, but they're on season twenty four now.
Speaker 2 (35:57)
Well also what's crazy that Dancing with the Stars, sorry, is saying that Harry Schum Jr. is from Gray's Anatomy and I'm like, he's from Glee.
Speaker 1 (36:05)
I know simply.
Speaker 2 (36:06)
Well, I mean, obviously he's from both. But like in my mind, that's his like iconic role, but I guess people are still watching Grey's Anatomy. Yeah. Wow.
Speaker 1 (36:14)
Yeah, I would not have known he was on Gray's Anatomy. His dedication was also really cute.
Speaker 2 (36:19)
I would need to watch his. I think he's such a good dancer and I like him. I like him, I like Ezra, I like Amber, I like I don't really know anyone else, to be honest. I just I should watch
Speaker 1 (36:30)
I Connor Wood is hilarious.
Speaker 2 (36:33)
more of his dances. I liked Sierra. Rip. who el Who else are girls on it? Who's remaining?
Speaker 1 (36:40)
Mara.
Speaker 2 (36:41)
I like her.
Speaker 1 (36:42)
Yeah, I actually liked her her eye. She dedicated to Ireland. which I think is kinda funny. I actually thought it was pretty good. They did it to shift it up to Boston. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:53)
No way.
Yeah, I should watch that. I really like her. I like them together.
Speaker 1 (36:58)
Yeah, they're fun. Yeah, Mark is great.
Speaker 2 (37:00)
Yeah, wow. Full full circle standing with stars.
Speaker 1 (37:03)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:04)
okay, so my next question
Speaker 1 (37:06)
god.
Speaker 2 (37:07)
What are your plans all this weekend? PJ's like, We're busy and he named like six different times of the weekend that y'all are busy and I was like, Whoa, whoa.
Speaker 1 (37:14)
Yeah, so sorry about that because
Speaker 2 (37:16)
No
no, don't apologize, I was like impressed, I think.
Speaker 1 (37:19)
So I was like, you need to answer because well it's funny because he is in charge of this weekend. because what is happening, we gone through a busy time. I
Speaker 2 (37:29)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:30)
was doing a lot of planning. And so when we were in Chicago, he was like, I we don't have anything next weekend, I will like plan our weekend. That's so cute. As like a date weekend.
Speaker 2 (37:42)
so I'm inject like putting myself in your date week.
Speaker 1 (37:45)
No, because we were gonna he was thinking about going away to the mountains but the weather's gonna be horrible. So yeah. And there's not that many things we can fill up our time in Denver when it's rainy out. So yeah. We're going to the movies on Friday night and then it's
Speaker 2 (37:59)
Nice movie.
Speaker 1 (38:02)
like you can see everything.
Speaker 2 (38:03)
Is it the Nathan Fielder one? The what? The one that Nathan Fielder did? Yes. Okay, I went to that Friday too.
Speaker 1 (38:08)
Wait, really? Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:10)
I don't think it's yet, but I am going on Friday.
Speaker 1 (38:11)
At eight thirty.
Speaker 2 (38:12)
We're trying to go Alamo Draft House, but I don't know.
Speaker 1 (38:15)
I think that's where we're going.
Speaker 2 (38:17)
Seven and eight are both sold out.
Speaker 1 (38:19)
Maybe not because we're going at eight thirty. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (38:21)
I don't know, but I might on my But
Speaker 1 (38:23)
This is so funny.
Speaker 2 (38:24)
yeah, that's actually my plan for Friday night, so funny. Okay, continue.
Speaker 1 (38:27)
That is really fun. So I ac we're gonna go to Hey Kiddo before.
Speaker 2 (38:30)
See, you've been there for an I've wanted to try to have it. So
Speaker 1 (38:33)
Good.
It's really good. That's cute. Really nice restaurant. Love. Like one of our favorites. We've only been there once, but it was really great. Love. So we're gonna do that. His plan for Saturday was to go to a pumpkin patch.
Speaker 2 (38:45)
Classic.
Speaker 1 (38:46)
But I don't know if the weather's gonna be great for that. I it's gonna rain all all days.
Speaker 2 (38:50)
Good this weekend. I thought it rains Sunday. I
checked yesterday, it rains all Sunday and Saturday it only rains like for an hour.
Speaker 1 (38:58)
Okay, that's good to know. So I mean I think that will be our agenda as of now. Wow.
Speaker 2 (39:05)
There's a bug in my hair. That's so sweet. Okay, that'll be fun. Are you gonna go to the same place we went last year for the pumpkin patch?
Speaker 1 (39:12)
No, he was trying to find that place and he like I said I wasn't helping him find anything. So I didn't help him find
Speaker 2 (39:19)
Go
down. Do you know where it is? 'Cause it is the Littleton Botanic Garden.
Speaker 1 (39:23)
Yeah,
I mean I would be able to find it no problem.
Speaker 2 (39:26)
I
probably close my eyes and find on the map because I also
Speaker 1 (39:28)
He
said I he was gonna play in this weekend and then he's like, Okay, let's go to the movies. I said, Great. Thanks for thinking of that. And he goes, Well, what time should we go? I said, No, no, no. He said, Wait, do we sit in the middle or or on the side? I was like, I am not giving any answers for this.
Speaker 2 (39:45)
I like this side of you.
Speaker 1 (39:46)
So when he was asking what pumpkin pack that was, I was like, I don't know. yeah. So we're going to one like outside of Colorado Springs if it ends up working out.
Speaker 2 (39:54)
Nice. Whee, that'll be so great.
Speaker 1 (39:56)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:57)
Okay, love. That's actually that was a good answer. I had no idea what it was gonna be, and I love that answer.
Speaker 1 (40:01)
Yeah.
And so I was gonna let him explain that he has been making us plans, so but I do also wanna watch actually I think the Pats are playing on Thursday. Yeah,
Speaker 2 (40:14)
Ooh. So we can put it on while you're coming over.
Speaker 1 (40:16)
I probably will be monitoring it.
Speaker 2 (40:19)
we put on T V, I have a network.
Speaker 1 (40:21)
That'd be amazing. But aside from that, I assume we'll watch NFL
Speaker 2 (40:27)
Love. I mean if it rains all Sunday, I'm kind of excited.
Speaker 1 (40:29)
Yeah, I wouldn't if you guys would wanna come over, can make some food or something.
Speaker 2 (40:36)
I would be down. Yeah, I think we're always friends here so we might see Sunday night for like dinner. But other than that, we only are seeing a movie Friday. Saturday's open, Sunday's open until that.
Speaker 1 (40:46)
Is it you and Raleigh seeing the movie? Nice.
Speaker 2 (40:47)
They were with Eminadem
'cause th I didn't even know what it was and they know a lot about movies. So they're like, wanna go? And I like, sure. But I've heard it's awesome.
Speaker 1 (40:55)
Apparently it's supposed to be like the best documentary that's come out in like 20 years.
Speaker 2 (40:59)
I might I don't know I even know she is. I
Speaker 1 (41:01)
I had
no idea what this story was. He was like, You don't know what whatever the company was
Speaker 2 (41:05)
Yeah, I looked it up and I still didn't know.
Speaker 1 (41:07)
I'm like, I still don't understand.
Speaker 2 (41:09)
No, I either, so that's why I'm like I'm just gonna go in blind.
Speaker 1 (41:11)
Yeah,
I think it was actually her that plays her in it. Well
Speaker 2 (41:15)
'Cause he okay, all I know is that for whatever reason, she lets Nathan Fielder live with her right before she gets like I
Speaker 1 (41:22)
So that part is real? I
think so. I didn't know if he was like playing someone else.
Speaker 2 (41:27)
I have no okay, I have no idea. I think
Speaker 1 (41:30)
No, that is totally true.
Speaker 2 (41:32)
And then everyone's like, Why would shall that happen? I have no idea. But I think that's what the storyline
Speaker 1 (41:38)
Interesting. I am confused how she got so much funding, had all of these high up people in executive positions when there was no product at all. It was just a lie.
Speaker 2 (41:50)
know who this is actually.
Speaker 1 (41:52)
She started the gene or the blood test.
Speaker 2 (41:55)
Okay, I actually do know who this is. Wow. I haven't heard
Speaker 1 (41:58)
I don't understand it.
Speaker 2 (42:00)
This was okay. I feel like I've heard of this, but I didn't really re I never connect the dots because I didn't know the company's name.
Speaker 1 (42:08)
Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2 (42:09)
yeah, I don't know either. But have you did you ever watch That Wonder on a Delve?
Speaker 1 (42:16)
No, but I've
Speaker 2 (42:18)
She kinda s
just acted rich. And she didn't have a product either. And she was like a s fraud scam artist and she was in prison.
Speaker 1 (42:28)
how how how do you get people to input money when you can't prove anything?
Speaker 2 (42:34)
Okay. I I watched some of her show and the re the way she did it is if you're just like in a high n a high enough net worth circle, they're not questioning you enough.
Speaker 1 (42:44)
Yeah, like you just pitch them an idea and they're like, That's a great idea and then they just go with it.
Speaker 2 (42:48)
And then yeah. And they fund it 'cause that's where you do want.
Speaker 1 (42:52)
to be rich.
Speaker 2 (42:53)
Yeah. Are you reading anything right now?
Speaker 1 (42:57)
I'm finishing my World War Two book and then I'm gonna start our book club book, which I've heard is supposed to be really good.
Speaker 2 (43:06)
okay, we missed you at book club and we actually went through like questions as if we were like in high school. Like
Speaker 1 (43:11)
We've never done that before. Is there any crafts?
Speaker 2 (43:13)
It was great.
yes, we did clay on top of pumpkins. Okay.
Speaker 1 (43:19)
yes, I saw.
Speaker 2 (43:21)
It was very cute. And then we've never picked a book before and all of a sudden someone suggested it and we're all like, sure. And I was like, this is actually so impressive and so not chaotic for the first time ever. So that was fun. But yeah, I had you started that book too. I think I emailed it to you if you have I was like, I'll just send it to her.
Speaker 1 (43:38)
You did, I saw. Thank you. Yeah. Okay. My
iPad
Speaker 2 (43:47)
Show
up. Right, I'm so jealous about his iPad. I keep calling him an iPad because he knows that I'm just so jealous. Yeah, he designed the safety dates on the iPad.
Speaker 1 (43:57)
Does he have the little style?
Speaker 2 (43:58)
No. I tried to get him one on Shop Goodwill and I got outbid.
Speaker 1 (44:03)
So he does it with his finger? Mm-hmm. my god.
Speaker 2 (44:05)
He's
using Canva, so it's like pictures and text
Speaker 1 (44:07)
Okay.
Speaker 2 (44:08)
for this certain design. Gotcha. But
Speaker 1 (44:11)
Does he use a mouse at all?
Speaker 2 (44:13)
No, I also did get him a keyboard on Shop Goodwill and it was for the wrong size. So that's on
Speaker 1 (44:18)
Okay.
Speaker 2 (44:19)
So not good PR for Chop Goodwill, but I've gotten a lot of good watches for him on there. And two cameras now. I got another myself on the camera. because I've been loving the film.
Speaker 1 (44:32)
I
realized that I do love having morning coffee dates with friends. So impressive. I know you don't love waking up early, but the last time we did it it was fun.
Speaker 2 (44:45)
It was really fun. I would do it again. It's just being harder to wake up now that it's so dark.
Speaker 1 (44:49)
Yeah. But I got coffee with Hannah. I feel like she's someone that's so hard to make plants with afterwards.
Speaker 2 (44:57)
Yeah. So you just walk around the morning?
Speaker 1 (45:00)
Then
we just go to a coffee shop and sit and talk. We the week. Yeah, we did.
Speaker 2 (45:04)
So nice. Do you go the sweet
you're so good at that.
Speaker 1 (45:08)
It was she's also I think she's an early riser, so we met there at six thirty. but to me I'm like that's sleeping in so I was like this is the best morning ever. No I didn't. I was like
Speaker 2 (45:19)
Did you like work out before and like run a marathon?
Speaker 1 (45:22)
I'm not gonna go to the gym before and I'm just gonna wake up late and go right there.
Speaker 2 (45:28)
I think that late on a we work day is seven thirty. And early is six fifty eight. So I don't know how you do it.
Speaker 1 (45:40)
My alarm was set for six and I was so excited when I was going to bed. I was like, You're so cute. Because I also I mean usually I'm packing my gym bag in like e if I have to if I run in the morning at the gym, I have to shower there. So I have to think about bringing all that stuff, my work clothes, like what I'm gonna do with my hair. So when I don't go to the gym in the morning, it's kind of really nice.
Speaker 2 (46:07)
So why don't you just go after work?
Speaker 1 (46:09)
'Cause I have no energy after work.
Speaker 2 (46:12)
Is it because you go to the gym in the morning? Have you considered?
Speaker 1 (46:15)
I f I don't feel as good during the day if I immediately wake up and go to work.
Speaker 2 (46:21)
Okay, that's a good answer. I did.
Speaker 1 (46:23)
also
feel not like motivated to like eat well.
Speaker 2 (46:28)
Okay, fair.
Speaker 1 (46:29)
So I just feel like bless.
Speaker 2 (46:31)
I did eat a cookie, went to the gym, ate the other cookie, now I'm on a walk. How do you rate that? I just
felt like it looked good. I was like, might as well. If it's like I'm walking out the door, I need snack. Cookie is on the stove.
Speaker 1 (46:43)
So me and PJ smoked a joint for the first time in a while last night.
Speaker 2 (46:49)
And
Speaker 1 (46:50)
And this was literally taking like two puffs each. We
Speaker 2 (46:53)
my gosh, super late.
Speaker 1 (46:55)
were like, let's smoke and then we'll go and get a dessert somewhere. Like a little sweet treat. We
Speaker 2 (47:02)
Love classic
Speaker 1 (47:03)
made the mistake of going to freaking Sprouts for a sweet treat and they they do not have good desserts.
Speaker 2 (47:09)
They do if you're gluten and dairy free. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (47:12)
It was I mean the cookies were bad. I got this little like peanut butter chocolate square and it tasted like nothing.
Speaker 2 (47:19)
Okay, that's upsetting.
Speaker 1 (47:21)
yeah. PJ got like chocolate chip caramel cookies and they were honestly bad.
Speaker 2 (47:27)
That's so upsetting. It was such a
dang. But did you still have a nice time? Did
Speaker 1 (47:31)
I did have a nice time.
Speaker 2 (47:33)
you own like like okay, so l you did two puffs, so you like putting it back? Or you like throwing it away?
Speaker 1 (47:38)
We put it back. It's not it's not a joint, it's a it might be a blunt. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (47:44)
I don't know difference.
Speaker 1 (47:46)
It comes in like a little like you know like the mini and Ms, how it comes in those plastics. That's what it comes in. So
Speaker 2 (47:51)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wait, that's
Speaker 1 (47:54)
fun.
Speaker 2 (47:56)
Wait, so yeah, and then what was the rest of your week like? How was your week? I guess it's Wednesday. I keep thinking it's Thursday.
Speaker 1 (48:01)
I think it's Thursday too, 'cause I worked from home today.
Speaker 2 (48:03)
Yeah, that was funny.
Speaker 1 (48:05)
what did I do?
Speaker 2 (48:07)
Dogged a joint. Went to coffee in the morning. And Monday. You go back Sunday? No, you are Saturday.
Speaker 1 (48:15)
Sunday I just had like a reset day. I ran, went to the gym, grocery shopped, meal prepped. went to bed early. Love. Gosh, I did something on Monday. I can't think of what I did. I think I saw someone. Ooh, girl. Maybe? I don't know. Don't remember.
Speaker 2 (48:34)
Fun.
Speaker 1 (48:36)
Love. Yeah. But I think I'm working from home tomorrow too. So that's exciting.
Speaker 2 (48:43)
And you're gonna come to my house?
Speaker 1 (48:45)
Ja ma żoń.
Speaker 2 (48:47)
I need to learn the rules tonight, it's on my agenda.
Speaker 1 (48:49)
Should I come in like with knowing some of the rules?
Speaker 2 (48:53)
I think you should come in and wear a fanny pack full of mahjong curls. If you could make that happen, that's what I'm looking for.
Speaker 1 (48:59)
Should
I come in with like a cane and a wig?
Speaker 2 (49:01)
Probably,
yeah, that. And whatever you want, you know? That's the vibe we're going for. I like
Speaker 1 (49:06)
Okay.
Speaker 2 (49:09)
I'm excited. I know you don't have to learn the rules. I think my plan is to learn it so I can like teach it. But I don't really care. If you want to teach it, you can too.
Speaker 1 (49:17)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:18)
But I figured it was worth a shot to just try to learn it. Eat some takeout food
Speaker 1 (49:21)
Yeah. Nice.
Speaker 2 (49:24)
drink some wine if we're in the mood. Ooh. Play some machine.
Speaker 1 (49:28)
I also don't think I'll walk tomorrow before because I think I'll wanna run after work beforehand.
Speaker 2 (49:40)
So what is your current running status?
Speaker 1 (49:43)
It's all over the place.
Speaker 2 (49:44)
Are you training or are you just doing it whenever you feel like it?
Speaker 1 (49:47)
I'm just doing whenever I feel like it, but usually between like four and six miles. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (49:53)
Okay, that's pretty good for you, I feel
like not crazy, but like still a lot.
Speaker 1 (49:59)
Yeah. I mean when I was on I forget if I told you this, when I was on the East Coast, I obviously was just feeling amazing. Yeah. So I did nine
Speaker 2 (50:06)
That's kind of so nice.
Speaker 1 (50:08)
in Chicago and then I got home to New Hampshire and I did like seven during lunch one day. I did how ten another day.
Speaker 2 (50:16)
So impressive.
Speaker 1 (50:17)
But then I come back here and I don't feel great. So
Speaker 2 (50:21)
I mean, I think it just went so hard. Cooking.
Speaker 1 (50:24)
It is so hot.
Speaker 2 (50:26)
Sorry, Strava, or your on Instagram, whatever it was, and was like, dang girl.
Speaker 1 (50:30)
Yeah, I was kinda, this is actually exciting. Really off topic, but Strava reminded me of it. But I set up a meeting with this girl at work.
Speaker 2 (50:42)
You
Speaker 1 (50:43)
She's in the Raleigh office and she's like pretty high up in the data tech team. And everyone knows her. Like she just is very involved with like coordinating things. and I had met her on like an internal call.
She just seems really cool. She has worked at the company for like s like eight years.
Speaker 2 (51:09)
Maybe so she's my age.
Speaker 1 (51:11)
So I guess that makes sense because I think I've I've only been there two years, but I've had a job.
Speaker 2 (51:15)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:15)
So that messes me up. But she did have like a gap year too. Cool. And she like lived in Spain. She was saying how she crazy that she ended up here, but she majored in like economics, minored in Spanish. And she was working at like US embassies in different countries. and thought she wanted to be like involved in the government and like translating and stuff.
Speaker 2 (51:41)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (51:42)
Shi worked at a law firm.
Speaker 2 (51:44)
This is so cool.
Speaker 1 (51:45)
And then realized she didn't love that.
Speaker 2 (51:48)
As that
data is for her.
Speaker 1 (51:51)
And she was like working as a waitress after this and just happened to serve the president of our company all the time. He wasn't the president at this time. And
Speaker 2 (51:58)
Holy cow, that's a great
Speaker 1 (51:59)
just like was always she's just like a nice positive person. And so sh she like had gotten to know her, just like chatting. It was like you can always just come like work here for a little bit and like you don't have to stay, just like use it as a a placeholder. And she was one of the first like
She was hired as like an analyst, which didn't exist at the time because it was only engineers and it was smaller. And so she's been there since the beginning. So I was like, this is a good girl to just like know. Yep. And so I was
Speaker 2 (52:35)
That's a great connection.
Speaker 1 (52:36)
like, let's just like have a call and just chat. And we just yapped for like an hour.
Speaker 2 (52:42)
Wow. Let's go. That's so fun.
Speaker 1 (52:44)
Yeah, and she we followed each other on Strava. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (52:46)
Yeah, I was like gonna I was gonna ask how this relates to strong
Speaker 1 (52:49)
So she's running the Philly Marathon. We were
Speaker 2 (52:51)
That's so impressive.
Speaker 1 (52:51)
talking about running and she was like, my gosh, let me follow you on Strava
Speaker 2 (52:55)
And she's like, Wow, this girl's so good, probably.
Speaker 1 (52:58)
She was like looking through my thing 'cause they she was talking about how there's been some people, like coworker people who have done like Ragnar races. So
Speaker 2 (53:08)
Okay, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:09)
it's like yeah, let me know if you guys ever need someone.
Speaker 2 (53:12)
That would be cool.
Speaker 1 (53:14)
Learning to branch out.
Speaker 2 (53:16)
You're killing it. That's so good.
Speaker 1 (53:18)
I think I'm very siloed in my position.
Speaker 2 (53:22)
This is cool that you have people like all over the country though. That's
Speaker 1 (53:25)
is cool. And
Speaker 2 (53:26)
nice.
Speaker 1 (53:27)
just 'cause I did mention to her, like, I don't have a ton of resources right now.
Speaker 2 (53:31)
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (53:32)
And she immediately, like, off the bat gave me like five names of people like, my gosh, just like talk to this person. They're really great. If you need this, go to this person. So she's a really good person I think to
Speaker 2 (53:45)
It's kind of perfect.
Speaker 1 (53:47)
A good relationship with.
Speaker 2 (53:49)
Wow, my networking queen. Let's go.
Speaker 1 (53:51)
Crazy.
Speaker 2 (53:52)
I love it. Dang. So are you gonna like connect with her when you move to Raleigh ultimately?
Speaker 1 (53:57)
I think well I told her I was gonna move. And I was like, I don't know where yet. And she was like, Raleigh I was
Speaker 2 (54:03)
And you're like, maybe.
Speaker 1 (54:04)
like, I don't know. but I I probably will try to see her when I'm in Raleigh in a few weeks.
Speaker 2 (54:12)
Yeah, you're getting so stoked.
Speaker 1 (54:13)
I am so stoked.
Speaker 2 (54:14)
I'd love having your calendar on my calendar because then I'm like, Wow, I always know where Sarah is. This is so nice. Yes. It's kind of iconic.
Speaker 1 (54:21)
Gosh, I tried to have I asked Jenny today if she had Google Calendars that we could share. Cause I'm up to like having like eight peoples. I love it. But Apple calendar. I'm like what? I didn't so not like that. I was
Speaker 2 (54:30)
V my gosh, that's She's so nice. Never know anyone to use AppleCom. Like what?
Speaker 1 (54:40)
like, this is not what I expected from you. That's
Speaker 2 (54:43)
So surprising, I feel like.
Speaker 1 (54:44)
I know.
Speaker 2 (54:45)
So how did you get so many calendars? think I have three.
Speaker 1 (54:50)
Well I
loved how we shared it and I love. Me and Kira shared shortly after just 'cause she was like, You just need to look at my calendar. I'm too busy right now. Yeah. For when I was gonna come visit.
Speaker 2 (55:02)
Yeah. I love that.
Speaker 1 (55:03)
My friend Libby and then OJ and I was like, just share your calendar with me because we're bad at calling, but if I see it on my calendar I'll like think of you and text you about what's going on. Wait.
Speaker 2 (55:14)
kinda love. I feel like more people have my calendar than I have theirs.
Speaker 1 (55:19)
I feel like people don't like going through the effort of opening it in the web browser and adding it. Love it.
Speaker 2 (55:23)
I I love that it's just layered on top of mine. I know you I
know your color. I forget well I forgot it is on top of head. I think you're purple. I
Speaker 1 (55:30)
keep
all on but then when I'm like actually trying to plan something I'm like I need to unselect all of them
Speaker 2 (55:34)
Sometimes I
leave them on I'm like let's be crazy. I it only does is bad if I have like this and three other events. And I'm like, no, I wanna see all three of them.
Speaker 1 (55:42)
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (55:43)
Please show me. well, anything else for today's show?
Speaker 1 (55:48)
I don't think so. That was a pretty good one. That was good. We time is it? Six thirty.
Speaker 2 (55:52)
Really hustled too. It's only six thirty, but it's so dark.
Speaker 1 (55:57)
It is so dark. So sad.
Speaker 2 (56:00)
All right, join us again next week.
Speaker 1 (56:02)
Bye.
